Medication Alert To all those on GLP1 or GIP drugs

We have received a safety alert about GLP 1 drugs and GIP drugs.

These drugs include dulaglutide, exenatide, liraglutide, semaglutide and tirzepatide.

It is already known that Pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas) is a possible side effect with GLP-1 receptor agonists and dual GLP-1/ GIP receptor agonists. However, there have been a few cases of pancreatitis that have been very serious or even fatal.

We are not advising you to stop your medication but it is important that you seek urgent medical attention if you experience severe, persistent abdominal pain, that may radiate to your back and may be accompanied by nausea and vomiting, as this may be a sign of pancreatitis.

We are contacting patients individually where we are aware that they are using these drugs.
