This week is when our registrars change over, so we have said goodbye to Dr Rabia Ali and Dr Justice Onuoha.
Justice will be working in paediatrics, A&E depts and then in some larger GP practices in the area over the coming months – we should see him back here in 2028.
Joining us this week are Dr Ponzing Sheni and Dr Abdulrasheed Addulsalam.
Ponzing and Abdulrasheed will be seeing patients in clinics for the next 6 months. We welcome them to The Croft Surgery and hope that they enjoy their time here.
GP Registrars are fully qualified doctors undertaking the further 3 years training necessary to become a GP. They have undergone additional training to enable them to diagnose and treat in the same way that our regular doctors do for many conditions.
This practice takes an active part in training junior doctors and medical students. This is the way we can play a part in building a generation of new GPs to serve patients in the future.
When you call or visit the surgery you may therefore be treated by a GP Registrar.
Dr Benny Gilhooley joins as GP partner this month. He will be working Mon, Tues & Thursday. He is a very experienced GP who has previously been a GP Partner, but more recently has worked as a salaried GP at Warwick Square Group Practice. He has a keen interest in education, having been a GP trainer for many years and he has a role with the University of Cumbria Medical School.
Dr Caroline Knox has finished her locum post at the Practice.
