Vaccine news Flu and COVID-19 vaccines ~ Autumn 2026

We will be offering ‘flu AND COVID-19 vaccines to all eligible patients this autumn.

The COVID-19 vaccine will be offered to all patients over 75 years of age, or who live in a care home or who are over 6 months old and are immunosuppressed.

Although community pharmacies also offer these vaccinations, we do hope that our patients will book into one of our clinics for their vaccinations.

We think there are advantages for patients when they have immunisations in practice as our clinicians have access to your complete medical history.
This is helpful for assessing contraindications, potential interactions with other medications, or specific risks.

Management of Complex Needs: GPs are best equipped to vaccinate patients with severe allergies, bleeding disorders, or complex underlying health conditions that may require closer clinical supervision.

Specialised Clinicians: If you have concerns about the vaccine or unique health anxieties, your GP or practice nurse is the best person to provide personalised clinical advice about your overall care plan.

Arrangements will be made for vaccinating housebound patients by one of the GPs
