There is a requirement for all patients registered at a practice to have a named GP.
We call this "usual GP"
All registered patients must have a named accountable GP who is responsible for their care.
This is largely a role of oversight and helps with practice administration.
Patients do not need to see their named GP when they book an appointment with the practice.
Patients are entitled to choose to see any GP or nurse in the practice.
If a patient requests a particular GP, reasonable efforts are always made to accommodate their preference but patients should be aware that this may mean not being seen in the quickest available timeframe and for urgent appointments, patients will be booked to see the duty doctor.
As Dr Reid is leaving at the end of the month, we have had to reallocate patients on our list.
Dr Hewson's list is patients with surnames A-Haq
Dr Knox's list is patients with surnames Har-Pav
Dr Smith's list is patients with surnames Paw-Zzz
All patients are registered under The Croft Surgery pooled list.
If you have any queries about this, please send a message via the website or drop in a note.
>>Please do not telephone the reception team about this<<
None of these changes should affect patient care in any way, so please continue your care with whichever GP you prefer to deal with.
