We are pleased to offer a complimentary prescription delivery service for the convenience of patients who would find it difficult to access the practice to collect their own medication. We are not under any contractual obligation to provide this service.
For the delivery system to work safely and effectively, some agreements between the patients using the service and The Croft Surgery as a business need to be understood.
• Patients must allow at least one working week for orders to be processed, checked, packed and prepared for our drivers. If you cannot allow this time then you will need to either wait for delivery the following week or make your own arrangements for collection from the practice.
• Patients must provide clear access instructions relating to their property such as how to find the premises or which entrance to use. Please ensure that there are no animals loose on the property.
In many locations, there are houses with similar names to neighbouring properties. If a house cannot be clearly identified, the medication will be returned to the surgery. It will then be the responsibility of the patient to arrange collection from the practice.
• In the event that a patient is not at home, the driver will post the medication through door via the letterbox on the property door or leave in a door or wall mounted letterbox.
• With prior agreement, medication can be left in a safe place. Please advise us about this. Please be aware of the risks of leaving medication unattended or where it could be tampered with or removed. Medication must kept out of reach of children or animals.
It is unsafe to leave medication anywhere without a prior arrangement.
In the event of the driver not being able to leave items in a place that they consider to be safe, the medication will be returned to the surgery.
It will then be the responsibility of the patient to arrange collection from the practice.
We deliver to a large number of households and buildings over a wide area and the delivery routes and times will vary from week to week.
Please allow our drivers plenty of time to complete their route before calling the surgery.
If you have not received an expected delivery before 1pm, then please telephone our receptionist. Sometimes there are unavoidable delays with medication issues.
We cannot provide a delivery service for controlled drugs.
Our drivers are Alan Smith, David Saul, Mike Graves and Craig Wilson.
Deliveries are on a Wednesday.
Patients are advised that this service may be withdrawn at short notice.
In the event of staff being unavailable or a Bank Holiday falling on a Wednesday there will be no service that week.
All patients who have their medication delivered are advised that it is their responsibility to have alternative collection arrangements in place for when we are unable to make a delivery.
We reserve the right to withdraw patients from our delivery service.
